An update on Coronavirus symptoms?

The Coronavirus continues to impact all of our lives. We have had to change our lives in so many ways – like how we must be vigilant about hygiene, wearing a mask when we leave our homes, and how we connect family and friends.

In fact, even the symptoms of Covid-19 to look out have changed. With infection rates on the rise, we thought it was important to revisit symptoms associated with Covid-19. According to the CDC, you need to be aware of the following:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

If you or a family member are experiencing any of the above signs, you should be tested. You should contact your primary care physician or go to the CDC site with testing locations by state to find a testing site location near you. Being proactive with your care can be very effective in protecting your family and those around you.

If you or someone in your household is showing any of the following signs, seek emergency medical care immediately:

  • Trouble breathing
  • Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
  • New confusion
  • Inability to wake or stay awake
  • Bluish lips or face

Staying informed is one of the best tools we have against Covid-19. If we all follow the recommendation of our lead scientists and doctors we will be able to lower infection rates and protect ourselves and our country.
